Pressure-treated wood lumber is the leading decking material. The standard is a #1 grade (less knots) 2 x 6 material and comes in a square edge and round edge cut.
PVC Plastic decking is referring to the combination of high-density cellular PVC and mineral compounds. There are many manufactures, all with unique qualities. The benefits of this type of decking is the many colors to choose from. Most common sizes are 2 x 6 (Actual 1.5” x5.5”) or 5/4 x 6 (Actual 1” x 5.5”). They also offer a stain resistance and mildew resistance low maintenance decking option. They also have wood grain patterns molded into the decking to give it a wood appearance and giving it some slip resistance when wet.
